FarmVille Seed Profit Chart
When I first started playing FarmVille on FaceBook, I wanted to figure out which seeds would produce the most profit. At first I thought that seeds that generated the most coins yielded the most profit. But, I quickly realized that I was mistaken. The way to look at profit is to determine the amount each square on your board can earn per hour. To learn how, be sure to check out these FarmVille Secrets.
For example. Even though strawberries earns 10 coins compared to eggplants, which earn 48 coins, strawberries are more profitable because they only take four hours to harvest, where eggplants take 48 hours. In other words, strawberries practically earn the same as eggplants in only 16 hours.
I know that all this may still be confusing for you, that is perfectly understandable. That said, I created this chart below to help you with purchasing the most profitable seeds. The column on the far right is called Coins Per Hour. The higher the number the more profitable the seeds are.
Keep in mind that there are times when it's not ideal to purchase seeds that yield the most profit. For example. If you're going to be at work for 10 hours, it might not be a good idea to purchase seeds that harvest in four hours. It would be a better idea to purchase seeds that harvest in ten hours or twelve.
Another thing to consider is that most of the more profitable seeds earn a lower amount of experience points. That seems to be the trade off. Also, another trade off is that most of these seeds harvest quick, meaning you'll have to stay glued constantly to your computer. Once again, use the chart below towards aiding you in making the best seed purchasing decisions in FarmVille. If you should have any questions, feel free to post a comment and I'll do my best to answer.

Great Chart. Only one error. You wrote 25 for Strawberries, but that should be 10.
Then again, better to calculate WITH plowwing, since you need to do that anyway.
Have you got this chart in EXCEL format?
Then you can put filters on it if you want to choose fastest and most profitable.
Best regards!
Farmer Stu@stuki.se
if you looked at the chart more closely you will have saw that he took the plowing price OFF of the profit ;)
where do grapes fit in?
I was able to copy the chart and paste it into Excel, no problem!
I did forget the grapes! I'll have to add that in. ;)
I don't see cabbage on the list either. Just fyi for next update
Thank you... I'll be sure to add that as well.
LOL Grapes. I had just done the same spreadsheet on the 9/11, before the grapes were added. My wife asked about it later, and I had no idea what she was talking about until I looked. Sneaky Zynga!
u for got to add marshmellow seeds
Blueberries is not right 91 - 50 = 41 (41/4=10.25)
Just saved me a lot of math and time, thanks! Awesome chart.
You're welcome Troy..
Mark, Blueberries is correct.....minus the 15 coins for plowing that was done in all the other calculations as well.
And grapes for those that asked:
If you buy them at 85 and sell them for 270 and if they take 1 day then that equals 7.08 Coins/Per Hour and that is including plowing.
What about asparagus, that's the only reason I came on this site.
If you're upset that you have to manually do the math yourself and then invest time to write a comment about it, then you've got issues far worse then you think. lol
it is good to have this graph I made one myself in excel, but Experience should also be included 1 per plowing.. and you should manage units in different rows so that you can manage to filter..
for example: I am in level 17 I want to know wich plant gives me more XP and Money
both together..
Very true Erick... If you get your chart published online somewhere, let me know and I'll link to it from this page.
you also forget peas!
I'd like to know where grapes fit in? Thanks
Love the chart. TY
i never knew soybeansis free
15 coins with plow
Jeez! I bet you never knew the people who would post would be such a pain!!
Regarding the previous post, the soybeans are NOT free. The chart says 15 coins w/o (without) plow. Therefore it would cost 15 for the coins and 15 for the plow.
Therefore the total cost for soybeans is 30.
By the way...Thanks for investing the time in the chart. It was helpful :)
I do have a question that is not related to seeds if anyone has an answer...how do you earn cash? I haven't paid enough attention to when I have earned it, so I don't know how it is accumulating....
no grapes? there are the one of the best plants
its better than sunflowers lol ...
u can just type XP instead of the long one xD
SCROLL UP FOR THE GRAPES, PEOPLE! GOD FORBID IF YOU DO THE MATH YOURSELF OR ACTUALLY READ THE PREVIOUS POSTS!
I'm surprised no one has commented on Broccoli. It only gives me 2 xp, not 4.
Peas (and Sweet Potatoes) give 3 xp, and are the only things that give more than 2 xp.
Mark I agree with you! If you factor in the plowing cost it throws everything off! Plowing costs 15 coins no matter what you plant so if you include that into your calculations then you are going to get wrong answers! The math is simple...
(coins earned) - (cost to purchase) / (hours to grow)
for example...
strawberries=
35 - 10 = 25 / 4 = 6.2 coins per hour

profit= money earned-money spent so for strawberries money spent is 10 for the seeds AND 15 for the plow job. so we get 35-15-10=10 and 10/4=2.5c/h people need to l2math srsly sus
patty squash and cranberries need to be added
Lol, why would plowing make you get wrong answers? If u want to know your PROFIT, than u have to add the plowing costs in the calculations. People whining about things that are missing should take some math lessons or go grab a calculator... Thanks for sharing your results with us! I'll be making my own in Excel though, but this was helpful :)
you forgot to add asapargus
Terrible chart , none of the math is correct.
Hey guys, go to http://farmviileprofitchart.webs.com/ . They have all the crops listed though level 34 and you can download them as an excel file.
Sorry, typo on the link. It is http://farmvilleprofitchart.webs.com/
I think one is missing and that is the Peas. Is there a profit chart for that?
