Should Blood Blisters Be Popped?

I am wondering if blood blisters should be popped? I slammed my finger in the top part of a window while trying to insert the storm pane. The blood blister formed on my finger almost immediately and now it's very tight and very sore to the touch. Should a blood blister be popped? Drop a comment with your thoughts.
